1  General / General Discussion / Re: New Layout - so what? on: June 16, 2009, 01:32:28 AM

We should differentiate two things:
1, the script
2, the layout

The current forum runs on a free script called SMF. Free scripts don't have that much possiblities as the paid ones, that is obvious. I think that we should choose for IPB, if we have enough money to buy it. Why IPB?
- It is easy to use, and besides, most of the forums on the net run on IPB, so most of the forum users are accustomed to it;
It is less expensive than the vBulletin, you can buy a permanant licence for 150 dollars.

And regarding to layout/skin I should say: if we get IPB, then I have a fine skin on my mind, with a modification, we can make the forum look owesome. Months ago, I opened a forum for a client of mine: http://afghanmetro.nl

If we modify the skin, and adjust it to our own theme, it will be cool.

With regards,

Superior

4  General / General Discussion / Re: BBC Persian-Language Service Channel Sets Launch Date14 January on: January 14, 2009, 02:53:58 PM
Thanks for the article, and what I really like about BBC is that it considers Persian as the language of Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan, while Voice of America (VOA), has Dari as a separate language, from Afghanistan.

10  General / General Discussion / Re: Who Killed Masoud on: December 08, 2008, 04:29:04 AM
To the best of my knowledge, ISI was behind the assisnation of Massoud, and we know that CIA has a great influence on ISI.
Removing Massoud from the scene, before invading Afghanistan was their plan.
They have controle over Taliban, but Massoud would in any cost resist them independently, if he were alive.

Marvin G. Weinbaum

Nearly a quarter century of armed conflict left the Afghan state broken, its national institutions virtually non-existent, and its economy in ruins. Traditional authority was undermined while many of the society’s norms seemed transformed. With the end of 2001, the country had become effectively a ward of the international community with the United States taking the lead in securing it from anti-regime elements. Progress was soon registered in establishing an interim leadership, a transitional government framework, and democratic goals. But the rebuilding of an Afghan state promises to be a slow and difficult project, dependent on a continued international commitment of assistance and the ability of Afghans to join together in overcoming, above all, their deep ethnic divisions.
