One thing which is very clear is that in politics you can find only interests (personal or national, etc). There are no philanthropic countries in this world and it is very clear that “No good returns = no investment.” Those who cooperate with us, they pursue their own interests and we need to understand the price of friendship and having an ally country.

Hi Friends,
According to new law of ministry of education of Tajikistan, starting from new academic year, the students at schools will study Arabic alphabet (Porsi) for 8 years. They will have this subject for 8 years!!!
This means that after some 10-15 years most of the people will be able to read and write in farsi. ;)

It is really interesting. The present Tajik language grammar was founded on the basis of Samarqandi dialect (which is now located in Uzbekistan). And yes, there are some influece of Turkic words in the North of Tajikistan. If you look at the map of the region and the location of North of Tajikistan province, you will understand why - it is almost isolated by Turkic speaking countries - it is divided from the rest of Tajikistan by high mountains.

And could you please post some words with Turkic particles?

Hi David, I am Tajik from Tajikistan but now studying abroad. Actually, I do not know if you can find Tajik novels/stories on-line, but you can find a lot of Tajik websites in Cyrillic - news, history books.

This is an old document. I remember Mr. Bashiri - he was giving public lecture in 1997 or 1998. Things have changed a lot since. He should visit Tajikistan again and rewrite his essay.

By Sassanian - I understand the kingdom and the territory of their rule. If I am not mistaken, Central Asia also was a part of Sassanins. Why Sassanian? Because it was the last major Iranian ruler in the area (not hakhomanishes).

Wait, wait!! But Poohantoon will still be on the signboard ??? - so no need for behavior change will be required for drivers :D

But there is another solution ;) Pashtoon drivers will shout poohantoon and the others daneshgah  ;D  ;D  ;D

Anyways, I believe in three languages will be a better solution. That shows a respect for both languages.

do you know how the tajik people thing about iranians in general?
and with things i should not do in tajikstan. for example is it not a problem for people there if i drink alcohol, or are the people there free to do the same things like here?

Drinking alcohol is not a problem by itself. But you should not walk in the street drunk. In case you drink too much and walk out, you should control yourself properly - people do not like drunk person in the street walking. And it is not nice to smell alcohol when talking to someone.

As of what they think about Iraninans, I do not know, people are different and I cannot generalize and speak on behalf of many.
In general, people in Tajikistan are, as I perceive, simple, humble, more relaxed, not interested in discussing global and plitical issues, do not care about who is Turk or Arab or whoever - all foreigner are foreigner - on the same level. And, yes, do not like complicated people with a lot of complicated questions.
