By speaking 5 languages, by far, you speak the largest number of languages. Let's see if there is another who can beat that number:)

Parsi and Tajiki can not be separated, so they will count as one. :D

Hey, that's right. There should be no cheating ;)
So we don't have a winner yet. We have a couple of Tajiks who speak four languages. We are still waiting for more.

Dorood all,

Nice thread! I am quite impressed at the multilingualism of our members. I know the many of the circumstances that have lead to so many of us being proficient in so many languages were not of our own choosing - but it is still nonetheless a great thing. I hope that you all keep practicing your knowledge of these languages - so you do not forget them.

About me:

English - Fluent.
Persian - Fluent - though I still have a long way before I am satisfied.

Arabic - Learning - slowly.

German - Was fluent but have forgotten it all - hopefully I will relearn when I visit Austria.

I unlike most people of Afghanistan never spent any time in Pakistan - so no Urdo or Pashto for me.

Persian (native; most dialects)
Russian (close to native)
Slavic languages (Ukrainian, Czech, Belorussian - good)
German (used to be my third language; English replaced it though. Trying to catch up)

Languages I taught and still teaching myself:

English (fluent)
Hindi (+ Hindi script Dewanagri - good)
Urdu (better than Hindi)
Turkish (fluent)
Other Turkic languages, like Uzbek and Azeri - perfect understanding, good speech
Arabic, Portuguese and some more (basic).

Wonderful multilingual skills. You should be TJ's foreign minister. If you are not, you have the wrong connections - like those in India, Pakistan, and Bollywood, and London - please consult with PORS who will arrange a ministerial position in Rahmon's government. And I would like to see you, please don't refuse (for the sake of Bollywood), as TJ need you :) And so do we in Iran and Afghanistan  OK I am crazy, you judge
