Dorood people,

No matter what religious background we are - we can all appreciate some of the really touching and special pieces of art and music inspired by the spiritual yearning of humanity.

Here is one I found pleasant:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8XSyTFVHLc" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8XSyTFVHLc</a>

A version of this I heard a while back - I cannot find in good quality anymore.

If you know of other versions of this Zikr - that you also enjoy - please share it.

Thank you.

Another thought:

The only way forward is a secular pluralistic democracy in which we ought to use all things politically for the basis of protecting our people-language-land-culture - including 'Islam'. Lets not allow the 'Islamists' make of Islam a political tool against our people-language-land-culture. The moment we openly condemn Islam - like the PDPA of Afghanistan in the past - or other various groups - in an illiterate and reactionary place like Afghanistan and that region of the world in general - then that will the point of political suicide.

Here is the same with an English translation of all of the names of Allah - that the singer cites. The terms are also called the 'Sefat(s)' of Allah as well.

Ahhangar,

Thank you for your effort. It's very pleasing to know what you appreciate in this video. I watched one similar to this in YouTube (can't find it now, but surely will post it some time in near future), a while ago, and I found that very neat.

Ahangar!!

In Afghanistan we are 99% Muslims so no need of any secular government.
We want a real Democratic Islamic Republic, which would accommodate to Modern Day and also shouldnt be against Islam, that is the will of the Majority
Talibani Ignorant version would never change our perception of the True and Genuine Islam

Religion doesn't always have to dictate the way the state is run. Just look at Turkey - it too is 99% *Muslim* yet its government remains secular where religious ideologies and politics are distinct from one another. Also, democracy doesn't work in countries like Afghanistan; I thought that was already made lucid?

Dear Abu Muslim,

I understand the political importance of the fact the majority of our people are 'Muslims'.  I too appreciate that this religious streak in people is not something that will go away - and that it is here to stay - and that it would be to our advantage to use religion - especially against those whom seek to use religion against us for their political purposes - namely the likes of the Wahabite - Deoband - Taliban.

A good example to follow is the Church of England - in terms of the political motives behinds its creation and its purpose in creating unity and stability within England and the UK - and especially in guarding against those 'religious' movements that were sponsored by outside powers.  It has served to keep the people of England free from fanatical beliefs.  We too need a similar setup which serves ultimately to guard our people from the political games and tricks of our enemies - and to keep our people united and motivated.

The framework behind it would be purely political - calculated and designed to serve the political goals of the state of Khorasan. The hard cold logic behind such policies will have nothing - and should have nothing to do will religious inspiration - only hard facts and reason.... and thus we would have a secular state that has at its disposal a religious tool that would serve it's political goals.

Think about the use of religion in Iran by the state - though not ideal or as sophisticated as the English - it has served to keep that land free from Ottoman Turks - Uzbek Khans - Moghal Khans - Saddam's Arabic army.

Remember also that one of the biggest reason why our areas have been so easily over run or taken over is because of the use of religion by our adversaries - and the lack of resistance. During the Qarakhanid take over of Bukhara and all Samanid land to the north of the Oxus - the Mullahs would tell people not to resist as these Turks were also muslims.

As policy makers we should not be tied down by religious affiliations - but be utterly ruthless in using it - to serve the goals restoring the sovereignty of the Tajik peoples.

I admire the current government of Tajikistan's accommodation withe 'Islamic Renaissance Party of Tajikstan'  - which is a quiet progressive party in Tajikistan - and i think a natural bulwark against the Wahabite Islamism and other 'Islamist' creations of foreign intelligence agencies.

In the end - a government cannot be religious - it has to be purely motivated politically.

Yes you are right... I did say SEFAT if Persian - which means attribute - but used 'names' in english - a slip on my part.
