Dear Nastoh jan,

I dont know how you learned cyrillic, but it's great job you can read and write in it.  I could only understood the title, and i can imagine the rest of the article will have the same concept.  I understand how frustrating it is not to have communication on the internet and cant share other media related stuff and books with persian speakers in tajikistan and uzbekistan.  but trust me you cant get rid of it at once, it was implemented on the region over the period of many many decades, and it takes time, actually a huge amount of time and hard work to change it all.  you need to consider everything.  people's attitude: not everyone else shares this concern with you and me, some anti islam people simply take farsi alphabet as the sign of islamic advance in their philosophical territory.  there will also be some pro russian elements who dont want it.  i think there are some ppl in the parliament of tajikistan who dont want this and they have always blocked it successfully, the same ppl try not to associate tajiki with farsi and dari, thats why they changed farsi to tajiki in the constitution of tajikistan, although we all know that they are all 3 different names on one language.  the ordinary attitude of ppl is really really important, no matter what we write and say in here, their view important.  so my advice: dont collide with them over this issue, respect them what they think and at them same time try to introduce farsi alphabet as well, if you respect them they will listen to you.  cyrillic is a huge communication barrier between the farsi speakers of afghanistan+iran and the farsi speakers of Tajikistan+uzbekistan, but we need to manage this situation in a sensible way.  we cant revolutionarze it, we need to work hard to create the right enviroment.

Thank you Rika Khana,
People of Tajikistan have alreayd decided to changed their alphabet. This is something that will happen and there is no doubt about it. The only question is WHEN it will happen and HOW (although even these question have already been answered and the process of changin has already begun).

I understand that it takes time but we have to find a way to make it happen as soon as possible. There are professional people inside Tajikistan who are working on how to begin this new process and how or when to complete it. Elementary students have already received Farsi alphabet books and, in few years they will be able to write farsi the way you and I write it in Afghanistan or Iran.

Let’s not forget that it is a national duty for all Tajiks in Tajikistan to leave the alphabet that was imposed by Soviet politicians. Those who oppose such decision, they are either sold-out or ignorant, but at the end they can't do anything and will never be able to stop it. Tajik without its language and culture is nothing. Tajiks understand the impotence of changing the alphabet and this is why they are serious. From their president to ministers, teachers, workers and students, they all want to have what was stolen from then 85-90 years ago.

Of course we can’t change things over night but we all have responsibilities and abilities to work on this. If we keep working, I am sure it won’t take longer. I know lots of Tajiks who have already started learning and using Farsi alphabet. There is no need for us to push them in doing that, because this what they want themselves. This is part of their Tajik identity. This is their history and their pride. They know that they need it in order to call themselves Tajik. They know that without doing that, it would be hard for them to communicate with the rest of Farsi speaking world. It would be even harder to work with others in cultural and educational and almost every other field. It would also make it difficult for them to consider great Persian philosophers and writers as part of their own, if they don’t adapt Farsi alphabet. It is essential to change!

agree on all points.  i never mean to sit relaxed and do nothing.  they need to start, from where and how? they know better than us, but they need to start on it.  and it's a good news that they have already started the job.  i am mostly unaware of what's happening in tajikistan because there is a communication barrier among us, and thats cyrillic alphabet.  i was trying to find Mubarakshah's songs on the net, i found them, but couldnt paly them and didnt know what it was, because it was in cyrillic.  the change is essential.  but we dont need to be revolutionary, thats my point.  they need to put their feet carefully and with precise measurments.  it takes time, but they should get started.

Come on script is not that important because noone except the Greeks have their own script preserved till today

I can read Cyrillic but not understand it
I cant read or understand Perso-arabic script
Latin is the only one.
The only script i am willing to learn anymore is Old persian because it looks very logical just like binary system!

Hi buddies !

I can read Cyrillic, very slow though. I can also read Old Persian, it's so great to some words such as "daryaa" , "durugh" , "aasemaan" , are still alive in the current Persian.
