and this proves my point. I have relatives in the soccer team. Soccer has always been a popular sport within the Tajik/Hazara/Uzbek community while Cricket was more popular within the Pashtun communities in southern Afghanistan and in Pakistan.

We can guarantee that 6 of them are pashtons just from their names. In total there are 20 players on the list. We can guess the hazara players from their looks. Other than that, it is hard to guess who is who.

Try to prove your point. It is not important that your friend or family are in the team. We know that you are biased :D when it comes to all this. So the only way to prove yourself is with facts.

So, Mr Ghorzang, would you say that Pashtuns are closest to Indo-Pakistanis culturally, ethnically, musically, and in almost every way ? Should we label Pashtoons "light-skin indians" who speak an Indo-Iranic language ?

Cricket is a British sport not Indo-Pakistani. Cricket was introduced to Afghanistan about less than 15 years ago. Volley ball and soccer are widely played in Pashton regions of Afghanistan.

Almost all of them have Persian last names. Maybe the only pashtun within them is the Jabarkhil guy.

Mohammad Aslam Askaryar, Abdullah Barak, Abaseen Atai, Mohammad Jabarkhel, Nangialai Sayedi are all pashton.

Ahmadi, Hussaini, Sayed, Sultani can be either pashton or non-pashton. We have a lot of pashtons that uses Mohseni, Marofi, Latfi and other such last names.

By the way, who is your relative in that team? :D

Like the 200 hundred years of Bad Government and down system in Afghanistan; i am sure if there were most Pashtoons in the national soccer team, then we can't go ahead such this. Think a little logical.... :)

We have a short history in the world of cricket but we beat 5 countries. Why? we don't have any tajiks or khurasanis in our national cricket team. You should use your advice for yourself (Think a little logical).

By the way, How successful is your Tajikistan or Iran? Why are you guys so behind (specially in Tajikistan)? People don't even know if you guys exist in this world. Iran's situation will get worst than Iraq's after the americans or the jews carpet bomb you. It is all a matter of time

Iran's soccer team is one of the best in Asia and Tajikistan's is almost close to becoming a major player in Asia. Don't forget how Tajikistan beat the US team this year.

Tajikistan under 17's finished 3rd in Asia in 2007 and qualified for the Fifa u-17World Cup. They finished equal second in their group defeating USA 3-1, losing to Belgium 1-0, goal scored in the last minute, and losing to Tunisia 1 nill, where a dodgy penalty was given.

The assistant coach of Afghanistan is my uncle, the vast majority of the home based players are from Kabul, Mazar and Herat.
