One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

Last night I came across this poem and I read it but I had difficulty in translating.

Thank you so much. :D

(Attar Nishapour, Mokhtar Nameh)

I am sorry to bump this. Is there anybody that can explain the meaning of this poem? From what I understand I know Khwaju is referring to the Buddha statue.

sorry i couldnt translate it, or i should say interpret(or illustrate or whatever) it. this is the issue with farsi poems, there is a big explanation behind ever line of it and you need to know them first in order to interpret it.

This poem would be good to discuss with all members to get different points of views.

That is kind of sad because I love to discuss poetry with people and get different perspectives.

How about me and you discuss the poem.

Thank you Unity for wanting to help me.

I was born in the United States but my parents are from Iran. My dad is Kermani and my mom is from Tehran. The truth is I could not speak the language and always felt there was nothing to be proud of. I would hear comments by Arabs and Turks who constantly criticized any farsi zaban regardless of where they come from.

However, I can now speak, read, and write.

I love Tajiks and all my hamazabans no matter where they come from; they are part of me and I will never forget them. The only thing I do not like is these stupid akhounds destroying Iran.
