Gul agha Icon : (03 May 2013 - 04:29 PM) Sohrab, Tajikam doesn't only consist of a forum. We have two major sections in this website. One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

Hello!
Next year I am hoping to travel to Tajikistan after visiting Uzbekistan this year. I was wondering if this forum is suitable for asking for advice.
The only reason I question this is a lot of the stuff seems to be concerned with Afghanistan.
Anyway assuming it is can anyone recommend language resources for learning some Tajik, If I were to learn some Persian would that be understood.
Also I do speak a bit of Russian how would that be received in more rural areas?

Regards Paul

If you know Persian you will have no problem because Tajik is only a dialect of Persian.
