One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

I came across a scientists tonight that I have never heard of his name is Jābir ibn Hayyān. But I noticed that he is listed as being Arab, Persian, or Kurd. I was wondering if anybody knew something about his background.

Hello Dear Saam.sadeghi, long time no see my friend. Hope everything is fine with you.

Jabir's ethnicity is not clear, some people believe he was persian, some say he was arab and some think he had kurdish blood, whatever his ethnicity, he was a briliant scientist, he has had many discoveries and inventiions, what i remember from my school time he has discovered the following chemical substances:

HCL(Hydrogen cloride, a form of salt)

H2SO4(Sulforic Acid, a kind of Acid)

HNO3(Nitric Acid, a form of Acid)

As for Jabir Ibn Hayyan we still don't know that much about him. Some say he was born in Tus and some say Harran. And having all his books in Arabic does not help either but then again we are talking about a different time period where a lot of things changed.

However he does talk about pre-Islamic Iran and mentions many names.

can you bring some quotes and cite some books for us, specially those phrases concerned to Iran? On Wikipedia he is called as Arab and maybe we can use some informations to underline his origine.
