One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

hi!
i study persian at uni and i want to go and study in a persian-speaking community somewhere... i cant get a visa for iran, and i dont think i can go to afghanistan either, which is a pity because they both look like such beautiful countries! does anyone know if there are language institutes where a foreigner can learn persian in tajikistan? or anywhere else at all! i have heard that samarqand and bukhara have big tajik populations, are there any institutes there? or is there is anywhere else in the world that has big tajik/persian communities where i could learn persian?

samarqand and bukhara are mainly tajik/persians, but i doubt if you could find any institution to learn persian, the policial dynamics in that country is not in favour of tajiks. but in case of Tajikistan, you can ask one of our admins Pors, he will give you more information(if he is still coming to the fourm, which i am not sure)

You can learn Persian/Tajik in most of universities of Tajikistan. They accept foreign exchange students and some of them arrange families as well. However, most of them will be Persian cyrillic. But if you want to learn Persian with Arabic script, I think Institute of Languages would be the best option.

Easier start would be to look at their website and contacting them via email and then by phone, if possible. I will post some links to their website later so you can check them out. Also, if you know any Tajik from Tajikistan, he can be a great help for you.
