Karzai's Linguistic Cleansing
#1
Posted 21 December 2007 - 10:00 PM
As you know Karzai government in Kabul is working hard to change everything to Pashto. Government websites, every symbol, every title, passport, visa, ticket, money, national anthem.....finally everywhere that his hands reach, he turns it into Pashto. We see everything in Pashto and English but no sign of Dari. As if in this country only Pashtuns live. This is very dangerous and it’s a big disrespect for 60% of people who don’t speak or understand Pashto. Surprisingly all his Tajik and Hazara ministers are watching him and it seems that they agree with Karzai’s ethnic and linguistic cleansing in Afghanistan, especially inside the government body / structure. I wonder what Zia Massoud and Karim Khalili are doing?? Do they really know what is going on??
I am really angry because no one is raising his voice and none of so called Tajik and Hazara representatives in the government does something. Why are we happy that we have someone from our side in the government? If they can’t protect their people’s interests, then why are they there? We don’t want sheep in power. We want someone who can do something, raise his voice, and defend his people’s interests.

Examples:
http://www.rscaf.org/index.htm
What is this? Why is it only in Pashto?
http://www.mof.gov.af/
Where is Dari? Why Dari is treated as second class? Why?
http://www.mcit.gov.af/
(Is this British ministry of communication? Where is Dari and Pashto?)
http://www.president.gov.af/
Even English is prefered in President's website. Write its address and click enter. Boom, English page of president Karzai in front of your eyes. Does he think its cool?
http://www.mrrd.gov.af/
This is good. They all have to be like this.
http://www.moj.gov.af/
Shame at you who put English as front page on Afghanistan's government websites. Shame on you! You build a website for your people, not for Americans in New York.
http://www.commerce.gov.af/
Again Shame on You!!
http://www.agriculture.gov.af/
This is good.
http://moph.gov.af/
Again shame on you! this is ministry of health. But for who? for George Bush? For Tony Blair's child? No it suppose to be for those who live in Warkak, Kabul, Ghazni, Parwan, Mazar, badakhshan, Faryab, Herat...etc. We don't need beautiful and colorful websites in foreign languages. People of Afghanistan can't use such websites, they can't read it. Shame on you ministers and those who have made such websites. You are besawad. It seems that you can't read your own language so you have made websites that you can read yourself.
http://www.mcn.gov.af/
hahahahaha. Look at this. Oh my god! Shameful!
If it continues like that, in 20 years English will be our first language.

Now let's see some examples from other countries and compare.
Germany:
Let's take Germany. Germany is located in Europe. It's much closer to England compare to Afghanistan. Let's see in what language are the German government websites:
http://www.bmbf.de/
This is Ministry of Education. It is in German but on the top of the page you can see its English link. This how every country should build its website. I don't why these ministers that we have don't know thes important points?
German Ministry of Finance:
http://www.bundesfin....html__nnn=true
Canada
Let's see Canada, a country that has two official languages like Afghanistan. This must be the best example to compare with Afghanistan a country that also has two languages. You can see how Canadians respect both languages equally in their Government websites. Then compare it with Afghanistan that uses English instead of its own languages. What a shame.
Ministry of Health:

National Defence:

Nastoh jan this is a very very serious issue, we are always talking about things that dont have priority for us, but always forget things that are top issues, like the ones you mentioned it. forget about zia masoud, comparing him to his brother is a crime. he and khalili are used by karzai . when it comes to leader i can hardly see anyone over there, it is sad man. we should also blame the journalists, those who are connected to literature, writers, etc, they are never doing their duty and never think about thier languatge and ppl, right now i can only see one tv channel which is heading to the right direction, i mean tolo tv

This is actually GOOD! Very good!
only pashtoo is language of afghans goverments and afghanistan! I am not represented by Afghan Government, and dont want them to use my language!
Parsi is the language of the TAJIKS.......AFG has no right to use Parsi.
How more they isolate...Tajiks...how more Tajiks will become aware...and the chance to start revolution will become bigger!
Let them...be fascistic...and next step will be ..inshallah...changing names of Herat, Kabul and Panjsher....and forbid Tajiks to speak Parsi.
And if the Tajiks...then still accept and dont do anything as nation together....then they deserve death!
Parsispeakers are majority in figanistan, constitutionally they can't do anything, if that comes to the situation that nation must vote for pashtu as the only language, parsispeakers will dominate and they will not let them to do so.
sure but it is also a question of education. The Pagha Dagha can also manipulate them by forcing step to step their language in our language.

i agree with you, they implement their dirty plans step by step, over the years and decades, it is like the americans, very patient and preciese. the question is how can we prevent them from more advances? it depends on how clever and inteligent we are.
