One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

Dorood,

"Educating minds - building futures"

It has not been a long time ago, I believe in 1993, when the first Tajik-Turkish lycee (upper level school: 5-11 graders) was built in Tursunzade, 65 km west of Dushanbe, Tajikistan. This school was sponsored by one of the richest Turks in order to promote "pan-turkism" in the means of good education and fostering Tajik-Turkish relations.

15 years later, this Tajik-Turkish lycee has become a chain of lycees that provide better quality of education across Tajikistan. There are more than 10 of these lycees operating right now in Tajikistan. All of them co-operate and select those better students who demonstrate passion for learning and strive for betterment. I have many friends who have graduated from Tajik-Turkish lycees and right now studying abroad (beacuse they got better education) and are living a wonderful life.

If you stop for a second and think what are the internal policies and treatment of these lycees inside the Tajik-Turkish lycees, you will be amazed. First, management is "hard nut", meaning they do all they can in order to teach, whether be it beating which happens sometimes and or disqualifying a student in case a student does not follow the rules. Actually, they have pretty rules and regulations there. One of them, every morning all students of all grades will come out at the school yard and they all sing Tajikistan's national anthem and then Turkish national anthem. They all follow strict rules of having breakfast/lunch/dinner and always study. Boys are not allowed to leave the lycee during the week, but on weekends they are permitted. Girls can decide whether to leave or stay. Most of them leave, because their parents do not want to. Also, they have lots of programs like games and competitions inside and outside of the lycees and inter-lycees too.

From what I have observed, the most striking fact is that all those young students who have been accepted to this lycee and studied there, they have better understanding, knowledge and respect to Turkey than those of studying in general high schools and comprising majority of the population.

I have got suggestion here, to establish "chain of Persian schools" that could operate in all Parsi speaking countries and teach/educate all young people. Since, Tajikistan does not have many well educated teachers, it would be better if we could invite lots of well educated and patriotic teachers from across Iran, Khorasan and Tajikistan, to exchange our teachers and teach each other. They will teach all these young students to read/write/research in Perso-Arabic, Latin, Cyrillic and will educate most of them in science. It will also create love among Parsi speaking countries and will revive all of us.

There are lots of advantages of establishment of such schools and I think it would be great to see all of us, Persians, to strengthen our ties and promote mutual understanding and raising overall level of education. "Key to prosperity is education."

PS: Last week, I was reading news and I saw some acheivements by Iranian scientists to launch a rocket, I was excited. This made my day. :)

Thank you for reading this post.

Perooz bemaned,

Pors.
