One is in Persian which is updated frequently and the other is in Persian (Cyrillic). Additionally, the English page is still running and has a vast amount of information on Tajiks and Persians.

This is a wonderful and richly informative documentary ! Thank you for posting.

Long ago, I remember reading excerpts of a book about Samak e Ayyar - which was a medieval Persian tale involving chivalry, brotherhood, and moral codes as far as I can remember. It was written for a popular audience. It was collected by Faramarz ibn Khudadadh al-Arrajani in the 12th century and written down by Sadaqa b. Abul-Qasim Shirazi. It is fascinating how in Iran we have kept a bit of our very ancient culture.

It would be interesting to find out what aspects of the Parthian culture was preserved by Tajiks, since Parthians were centered in Khorasan.

Nader Shah Jan, the eastern Iranians had the same culture with those of the western Iranians. The had the same belief, spoke nearly the same dialects, had same (fictional) heros, same tradition clothes (you can even today see the reflections of the eastern Iranians influence in Aserbaidjan and Armenia) and what is most important they were mostly allied with eachother. The only different between eastern and western Iranians was that western Iranians had also adoptet some effects from their western neighbours (the Babylonians, Elamites, Greecs...) while eastern Iranians were mostly preserved their own aspects (except for a short time).

Nader Shah jan,

Tajikistan was never part of the Parthian Empire. They were under Greeks of Bactrian Empire. Parthian heartland/homeland was Khorasan(in Iran),Semnan,Turkmenistan,Herat and Sistan. The empire stretched to Syria(in West),Arabia(in South) and Pakistan(in East) and Georgia(in North).

*Ancient City of Hatra is located in Jordan, Parthian Culture is visible.
*Ctesphon was Parthian capital, located in Iraq, Parthian Culture is visible. It later became Sasanid capital.
*Some Christians of Indian Subcontinent(Punjab and Pakistan) are descendants of Parthians who converted to Christianity by Apostle St Thomas. Gondophares was Parthian ruler who was from Suren Noble Family. Other christians are of Portuguese and British ancestry.
*Varzesh-e Pahlavani: is still active in Pakistan today, Parthian Culture is visible.
*Armenia: Arsacid Dynasty in Armenia, converted to Christianty during reign of Tirdates of Armenia(a Parthian prince who claimed independace from Parthian Empire). Today many Armenians still have Parthian firstnames such as Arshak(Ashkan in Iran), Suren(Sorena in Iran), Karen(Qaren/Gharen in Iran), Trdat(Tirdad in Iran), Smbat(Sandbad in Iran), etc...
*Mustache only: Today many Arab countries(Jordan, Iraq, Syria) and Turkey(specially Kurds) men grow their Mustache only, this was a fashionable thing of Parthian origin. As you know Arabs do the opposite eg. Saudi Arabia shave their mustaches and grow their beard only.
