Karzai's Linguistic Cleansing
Posted 21 Dec 2007
As you know Karzai government in Kabul is working hard to change everything to Pashto. Government websites, every symbol, every title, passport, visa, ticket, money, national anthem.....finally everywhere that his hands reach, he turns it into Pashto. We see everything in Pashto and English but no sign of Dari. As if in this country only Pashtuns live. This is very dangerous and it’s a big disrespect for 60% of people who don’t speak or understand Pashto. Surprisingly all his Tajik and Hazara ministers are watching him and it seems that they agree with Karzai’s ethnic and linguistic cleansing in Afghanistan, especially inside the government body / structure. I wonder what Zia Massoud and Karim Khalili are doing?? Do they really know what is going on??
I am really angry because no one is raising his voice and none of so called Tajik and Hazara representatives in the government does something. Why are we happy that we have someone from our side in the government? If they can’t protect their people’s interests, then why are they there? We don’t want sheep in power. We want someone who can do something, raise his voice, and defend his people’s interests. -
Need for more bridges and closer contacts
Posted 23 Nov 2007
I think that currently there are two big bridges connecting Tajikistan with Afghanistan. I believe that we need to build more bridges over Amoo River in order to increase contacts between the people of two sides. Also in the near futer we should make it easier for tajiks in both sides of the river to cross the border, visit their families, friends and do business. It is very important for Tajiks to be constantly in contact with each other and remove border restrictions day by day. -
Who will be Afghanistan's next president?
Posted 20 Nov 2007
Afghanistan's presidential election is getting closer. I don't think Karzai will be re-elected againe. From your point of view, who will be OR should be Afghanistan's president? Is it possible or important that a non-Pashtun becomes Afghanistan's president?
I believe that Afghanistan needs a non-Pashtun president. Why should always Pashtuns be the head of the country? This should change.
Do you agree? -
If Afghanistan fails...
Posted 14 Nov 2007
What if we all Tajiks reunite and join Tajikistan to build a bigger and stronger Tajik nation? If Afghanistan fails as a peaceful country and fails to bring unity and prosperity to its citizens especially to Tajiks, what options do we have?
